Beatrice Ann (Krothe) Solovey, 92, formerly of Plainsville, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Abington Manor.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Woodring) Krothe.
Beatrice was a graduate of Coughlin High School. In her earlier years, she worked as an Operator for Bell Telephone. Beatrice was a talented seamstress, having worked in the local garment industry as well as at Leslie Fay and David’s Bridals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Solovey; brothers, William and James Herbert Krothe; and grandson, Matthew Thomas Sharkey.
Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Sharkey (Joseph), Laflin; son, Stephen Solovey (Margaret), Plains; grandchildren, Joseph Sharkey (Ale); Michael Sharkey (Ashley); Melissa Sharkey Bostic (Tyler); Katherine Sharkey; Brian Sharkey; Lindsey Solovey; and Stephen Solovey (Amy); great-grandchildren, Jackson, River, Sawyer, and Sutton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companions Holly and Lucy.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, March 11, 2022, from 5pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Religious services will be Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 9am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fern Knoll Cemetery, Dallas.
