Christine Anderson, 90, of Hughestown, passed away peacefully surrounded her loving family on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Wesley Village Rehabilitation Center, Jenkins Township.
A life-long resident of Hughestown, Christine was born on June 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Pearl (Shucoski) Serafine. Christine was a graduate of Hughestown High School class of 1948 and worked in the local garment industry. When she wasn’t working, she devoted her time to provide a loving home for her four children, who were the lights of her life.
Christine had such genuine warmth and was loved by all. She was an active member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Pittston. Christine had a passion for cooking, going to the casino, and spending time with her loyal husband of 48 years, whom she missed dearly after his passing in 2005. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; and brother, Benjamin Serafine.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Mary Mooney and her husband, John, West
Wyoming; sons, John Anderson and his wife, Elaine, Falls; David Anderson, Hughestown; and Mark Anderson and his wife Georgiann, Shavertown; grandchildren, Shawn Mooney and his wife Ashley, Forty-Fort; Megan Rogers and her husband, Eric, West Pittston; Kevin Anderson and his wife Jenny, Virginia; Dana Anderson, Wyoming; Kelly Anderson and Mark Michno, Wyoming; Jason, and Michael Anderson, Shavertown; great-grandchildren, AJ, Jack, Madison, Andilynn, and Ryan; brother-in-law, Eugene Anderson and wife, Ruthie, Pittston; sister-in-law, Janet Tomasak, Pittston; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wesley Village and Sacred Heart Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of their Mother.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family with interment in West Pittston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Christine. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
