Donald G. Gardner, 94, of Pittston Twp. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday evening February 17, 2023.
Born in Hughestown on January 24, 1929, he was the son of late James and Elizabeth Gerrity Gardner. After graduating from Hughestown High school he joined the Military and served with the occupation forces in Japan. Upon returning home he joined the Washington DC Metropolitan police department. Soon after that he transferred to the United States Secret Service Uniformed division and was stationed at the White House. After retirement, Donald’s focus was always family. He loved his grandchildren and they loved him back. From vacations to reading a book he was always available. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson Cory Reese USMC, brothers James and Joseph Gardner, sisters Jane Reardon, Elizabeth Kelly, Ann Marie Barber and Marguerite Gardner. Surviving is his wife Patricia Gardner, sons Donald Gardner (Lori) Forty Fort, James Gardner (Donna) Virginia, Kevin Gardner (Lisa) Pittston Township, grandchildren, Lauren, Donald, Kyle, James, Megan, Shelby and Jacob. Brother Marty Gardner Michigan, numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home LLC. Pittston.
