Donald William Renfer

Donald William Renfer, 89, of Suscon, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, inpatient unit, Dunmore.


Born in Suscon on June 1, 1934, he was the son of the late Clarence and Alice Antal Renfer.

 

He was a graduate of St. Mary’s school, Avoca and attended St. John’s high school, Pittston.  He honorably served in the U.S. Army.

 

For 60 years, he proudly worked as a milkman, in the local dairy industry, the majority of the time he was self-employed.  He was always ready to help others. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae Renfer in 2023, siblings, Geraldine Gall, Merle Renfer, Sr., Alice Marie Nocito, Leah Brady; and infant brother, Paul Renfer.

 

Surviving are his children, Adrianna Renfer, Gregory Renfer and Christopher Renfer (Renee), sister, Rita Brady, all of Suscon, brothers-in-law, Michael Nocito, Anthony Patte (Barbara) and John Patte (Lugia), nieces, nephews, cousins and all the people whose lives he touched.  He will also be missed by his dog, Pacino and his cat, Mr. Kitty. 

 

The family will receive relatives and friends, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 8am-9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am.  Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston.
