Dorothy Ann Delaney (Goham) of Brooks Estates, Inkerman, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late Albert and Frances O’Malley Goham of Brooklyn, New York. Dorothy was born and raised in Brooklyn until she attended Marywood University where she met the love of her life, James “Jay” Delaney. They were married for 62 years until his death on January 3, 2019.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Adonizio and her husband Charles, Plains Twp., sons, James Jay Delaney, Jr. and his wife Valerie, Wilkes-Barre; David Delaney, Sr. and his wife Lisa, Harveys Lake; and Paul Delaney, Sr. and his wife Tammie, Hughestown; grandchildren, Kristie Adonizio, Philadelphia; Charles IV (Chad) Adonizio, Philadelphia; Sarah Ann Doyle and her husband Kevin, Shavertown; James Jay III (Jamie) Delaney and his fiancé Cheryl Andrukaitis White Haven; Megan Patterson and her husband, Michael, Wilkes-Barre; Joanna Zeske and her husband Shawn, Wilkes-Barre; David Delaney Jr, Harveys Lake; Thomas (TJ) Fender, Hunlock Creek; Paul Jr. (PJ) Delaney and his fiancé Sydney Shelley, Hughestown; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Hadley and Ainsley Doyle; James Jay IV (JJ) and Jaxan Delaney; Brennan and Delaney Patterson: and Teagan Grace Delaney; sisters-in-law, Mary Doris Donovan and Janet Delaney; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Greenwald and the entire staff of Medical Oncology Associates for the excellent care they provided Dorothy for almost 40 years. We would also like to thank Laurie of Commonwealth Health for her months of compassionate care. Additionally, we are touched by the dedication and commitment to upholding the quality of care that was given by a team from Allied Hospice, Scranton. Lastly, but certainly not least, we want to thank the special caregivers over the last several weeks who provided a spiritual, comfortable, and peaceful ending for Dorothy.
A Celebration of Life will be performed Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11:00am in St. Maria Goretti Parish, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00-11:00am in the church. Memorial donations may be made to MOA Prescription Fund, 382 Pierce Street, Kingston, PA18704 or to the Oblates of St. Joseph, Hwy 315, Pittston, PA 18640.
