Dorothy Trolio

Dorothy Trolio, 92, of Dupont, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Dupont on May 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Szewczyk Malinowski.


She was a graduate of Dupont High School and had worked in the local garment industry for many years. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Dupont, and was involved with the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.


Dorothy was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She touched the lives of many more than just her family, and embodied a certain kindness and gentleness that resonated with everyone. She lived for her family, especially her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard (Nardy) Trolio; son, Michael Trolio; sister, Marie DiMarco; and two infant brothers, John and Peter Malinowski.


Surviving are her children, John Trolio and his wife Debbie, Moosic; Leonard (Lenny) Trolio, Dupont; Mary Ross and her husband Charles, Jenkins Township; and daughter-in-law, Roseann Trolio, NJ; 7 grandchildren, Nicole Condrasky and husband Dan; John Trolio; Nathan Trolio and wife Ashley; Lindsey Fultz and husband Dr. David; Kathryn Szostak and husband Bart; Charles Ross III, and Madelyn Ross; 9 great grandchildren (and one on the way!), Alex; Ben; Claire; Michael; Mia; Ella; Nathan; David; and Andrew; brothers, C. Edward Malinowski, CT; Charles Malinowski, VT; and numerous nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 5pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10 am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Avenue, Dupont. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church Thursday morning. Interment, parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont.
