Dylan James Osticco

Dylan James Osticco, originally of Pittston, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Born in Kingston on August 8, 1997, he was the son of Melanie Smithonic and the late James Osticco.

Dylan was an amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson and most importantly the most amazing and loyal friend. Dylan loved with his whole heart and would give or do anything for the people in his life. He was smart beyond his years. He excelled academically in school in which he made Honor Roll every quarter throughout his 4 years in high school.


He played basketball for the Pittston Area Patriots and was known on the court as "Shifty" because of his slick moves. He also played for many adult basketball leagues throughout the last few years. Dylan was also an animal lover, his rescue dog Willow was the love of his life. He also loved tattoos and loved being tattooed by his good friend Ron. Dylan brightened up every room he walked into with his vibrant smile, contagious laugh and goofy personality. He was loved by everyone who met him and will be missed by many. Dylan was the heart

and soul of our family and there will never be a day that goes by that he will not be missed.

Dylan was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 2016 and attended Luzerne County Community College. He had worked for Hallmark Construction, Mountaintop.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Anthony and Shirley Osticco, and aunt, Amy Kalmanowicz.

Surviving are his mother, Melanie Smithonic, Dupont; siblings, Lauren Smithonic, Glen Lyon; Josh Osticco and Aleksa Davila and their daughter Kaia Osticco, Pittston Twp, and Madison Osticco, Dupont; maternal grandparents, Christopher and Debra Kalmanowicz, Dupont; great uncle and great aunt William and Ellen D’Elia, Hughestown; numerous uncles and cousins.


Friends may call Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 5pm-8pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
