Edward Wrubel, 87, of Exeter, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late George and Sophie (Ritzie) Wrubel.
Edward was raised in Dupont. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family consisting of twelve children—nine boys and three girls.
Edward worked as a laborer for Addy Asphalt for many years, and later worked at various greenhouses throughout the area. He was an avid gardener and kept a terrific garden of his own. His greatest joy was following his children’s and grandchildren’s school and sports events.
In addition to his parents and siblings, Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Weathers) Wrubel.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Maloney, Wilkes-Barre, Robert Wrubel and wife Alison, Exeter, Hannah Brum and husband Tony, Nazareth, and Craig Wrubel, Exeter; grandchildren, Janelle, Alicia, Ashley, Mark, Ryan, Dylan, Derek, Erin, Lauren, and Melanie; great-grandchildren, Kyla, Victoria, Cameron, Adalynn and Caden; numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Edward’s wishes, funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
