Emma Fahey, 83, of Jenkins Township, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 in Hospice of the Sacred Heart inpatient unit, Dunmore.
Born in Avoca on July 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith Luvender McCracken.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved cooking for and taking care of her family. She was a fan of the NY Yankees, Notre Dame Football and Pittsburgh Steelers. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She always made her friends and family feel welcomed. She conveyed a sense of warmth and kindness. Emma was known to too many to count, as Mom or Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fahey, Sr., son-in-law, John Whispell; brothers, Gary McCracken and Joe McCracken; sisters, Dora Haines, Phoebe McCracken and Laura McCracken.
Surviving are her children, Robert Fahey, Jr. (Maria), Pittston; Brian Fahey (Sandy), Jenkins Township; William Fahey (Lisa), El Paso, TX; Brenda Hughes (Scott), Plymouth; Bernice Whispell, Pittston; and Brandi Nelson (Robert), Jenkins Township; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, George McCracken (Mary), Duryea; and sister, Betty Lewis, Avoca; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4pm-6pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.

Emma was a mother to not only her children but any child who needed a mother. You could always count on Emma for a warm meal and a place to lay your head. This is a loss to the entire city of Pittston. All the good things about me as a 43 year old woman are because of Emma Fahey and Bernice Fahey Whispell and their love, generosity and inclusion. There wasn't a holiday I wasn't included in. When Easter baskets were made there was one with my name on it. When it was time for dinner there was always a place set for me.
