Ernest P. Nicholson, 89, of Exeter, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Scranton on August 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Ernest and Emma Bevan Nicholson.
Ernest was a graduate of Taylor High School and proudly served in the US Army. He retired as a union carpenter for local 445.
He will be remembered as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a good man and will be truly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Emma and Shirley Nicholson.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Koscelansky Nicholson. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on August 24, 2022. Also surviving are son, Ernest
M. Nicholson, West Wyoming and daughter, Mary Oravitz (Michael), Exeter; grandchildren, Eric Nicholson; Erin Nicholson; Kaithlyn Kuharchik (Walter, III); great-grandchildren, Sumner Kuharchik and Walter Kuharchik, IV; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 4pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. The family requests that you kindly wear a face covering during the visitation. Interment, Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 10 am in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
