Eva Mae Falcone, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 11, 2025 at the age of 92 in Niantic, CT.

Eva Mae was a 1951 graduate of Jenkins Township High School, PA. She was employed by the Consolidated Cigar Corp and Acernese Trucking. 

She was actively involved in her community throughout her life. She served as President of St. Rocco’s Christian Mothers, President of St. Rocco’s PTA, and as a Girl Scout leader. She was a passionate reader and was instrumental in the growth of the Pittston Memorial Library and served on their Board of Directors. In 2012 the library awarded her with its prestigious Jean Yates Award. She also volunteered as a Literacy Tutor and for Meals on Wheels. 

 

Eva Mae moved to Niantic in 2022 when her husband passed away, but she spoke daily about missing her hometown of Pittston, PA. 

 

Born on June 21,1933 she was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Eva (Trotter) Acernese, husband Carmen Falcone Jr., brother Louis, and sisters Rosalie and Sharon. 

 

She leaves behind her two daughters, Tina Stehle and her husband James of Atlanta, GA; and Louise Kearney and her husband Kevin of Niantic, CT. She is also survived by grandchildren Lauren Gettys, Atlanta, GA; Brendan Kearney, Westport, CT; Dr. Christopher Kearney of Boston, MA; six great grandchildren; sister Theresa Roebuck. 

 

The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 9am-10am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am.  Entombment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
