Francis X. Solano

Francis X. Solano, 96, of Hughestown, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021.


Born in Pittston on December 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Ross Solano.

He was a graduate of Pittston High School. He then served in the US Army during World War II in the European theatre. Francis was self-employed in the insurance industry for many years.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sarah A. (Sally) Saporito Solano; brothers Joseph and Fredrick Solano and sisters, Rosarie Lewis, Anna Marie Argento, Rita Zangardi, and Louise Rizzo.


Surviving is his son, Dr. Francis X. Solano, Jr. and his wife Lenette, Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Nicole Seaman (Goeff), David and Rachel Christian (Jacob); great-grand children Nora and Henry X. Seaman. He is survived by many nieces and nephews who he adored


The family will receive relatives only Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 4pm-8pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Vaccinations and masks are required. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 9:30 am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment, West Pittston Cemetery.

Dear Frances....So sorry for your loss....I remember your Mom and Dad as such sweet, kind people....Your Mom and my mom Mary Dellaria Frew were neighbors on Market Street....my Mom always spoke about your parents fondly....When I married 1974 here in NJ they were definitely invited...they are in a few of my wedding photos...May our Lord bring comfort and peace to you and your family..during this difficult time.....Mary Beth Frew Gottel

Our deepest sympathy to the Solano family. I remember Mr. Solano as a real gentleman and very devoted to his family. He was greatly loved by his family.
