Grace Deeble

Grace Deeble, 92, of Hughestown, passed away January 17, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family, who adored her and cherished every day they were blessed to have her in their lives.

Grace was born in Pittston, daughter of the late Clarence and Jennie Eagan Casterlin.

Throughout her life, she found a way to touch the lives of many. There was no one who did not love her the moment they met. During her life, she not only raised 5 children, but helped to raise her grandchildren and some great-grandchildren.

She loved trips to Atlantic City with her sister and her daughters. She loved a nice cold beer, out of a glass, never out of a bottle or can. She loved her family unconditionally and always found the good in everyone. She had the best smile and could light up any room she entered. She had the best wit and found humor whenever she had opportunity to make someone laugh or laugh herself. She made the best family and holiday meals, especially sausage stuffing and lemon meringue pie, and everyone was always welcome. She was the best mom, nana, sister, and aunt, and she was everyone’s favorite. We will try not to cry because you are gone, but smile for

all the time you were here.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Melbourne B. Deeble, her sister Dorothy Lee, brothers Robert Casterlin and Clarence Casterlin, Jr. and her son-in-law Jody Newcomb, all of Pittston.

Surviving are her five children, Linda George, Pittston; Nancy Newcomb, Pittston Township; Bruce Deeble (Susan), Shavertown; Ronald and Scott Deeble, Hughestown; her sister and best friend, Ruth Morgan, Pittston; nine grandchildren, Marty George (Sue), Dupont; Kristoffer George (Jen), Pittston; Heather Bedell (Keith), Yardley, PA; Bruce Deeble (Heidi), Boca Raton, FL; Randy Deeble (Bridget), Pittston; Ashley Deeble, West Pittston; Holly Hochreiter (Conrad), Laflin; Jason Newcomb (Nikki), Wilkes-Barre; Kelly Rowan (Jimmy), West Pittston; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jojo Carchilla, Bryan Rowan, Nicholas George, Kyle Rowan, Conrad Hochreiter; Calleigh Newcomb; Aubrey Bedell; Delaney Bedell; Hayley Bedell; Brady George; Charlie Deeble; Randi Deeble; and Colin Miles; numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend gratitude to Residential Hospice nurses, especially Clover, Joan, Sandy and Carla.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Cardiac Center of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
