Grace Marie (Melone) Sarf, 95, formerly of West Pittston, passed away on June 30, 2023 while residing at Sunrise of Granite Run, Media, PA.
Born in Pittston on June 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Beatrice (Pignone) Melone, and was a 90-year resident of Pittston, Wyoming, and West Pittston.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School’s Class of 1946. Her Class Yearbook lists her hobbies as skating and dancing and notes that she “possesses an abundance of charm.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Paul Fosko, and many aunts and uncles.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Michael R. Sarf, Jr., Media; son, Michael W. Sarf and wife Christine, Wallingford; brother, Joseph Melone and wife Marie, North Palm Beach, Florida; sisters, Mary Lou Fosko, Rockville, MD; and JoAnn Campbell and husband Thomas, Swoyersville; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, July 7, from 10am to 12 noon with a Blessing Service at 12 noon in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Entombment will follow in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Condolences may be offered at adoniziofuneralhome.com.
