Helen A. Mancinelli, formerly of Dupont, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the home of her loving and caring daughter Joan and son-in-law Michael Diakun with whom she has resided for the past four years.

Helen was born on March 10, 1926 in Hudson and was raised on William Street in Pittston. She was the daughter of Anthony and Elsie Zakens Rubicco.
Helen was a graduate of Pittston High School Class of 1944 and Bradford Beauty College.
She was a homemaker and devoted Mom to her 4 children, in her later years she worked with her friend Carmella at Aufiere’s Restaurant in Pittston. She was an excellent cook of all homemade Italian food taught to her by her husband’s sisters. As much as she loved to cook that love was surpassed by her tremendous passion for baking. Her apple squares were one of her famous treats enjoyed by all who were fortunate to have tasted. She baked for years for her daughter-in-law Linda’s family Orchard, Brace’s Orchard. Her grandchildren loved her chocolate chip cookies and Texas sheet cake. She was truly a gifted baker.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Enrico "Bing" Mancinelli in 2003, her beloved daughter Celeste Mancinelli in 2009 and dear infant grandson John Nicholas Diakun in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, the ultimate caregiver, Joan Diakun and her husband Michael, sons Anthony and his wife Robin (Gambini), Dupont and Jerry and his wife Linda (Brace) Dallas. Grandchildren, Michael Diakun, Maple Shade NJ, Chief Petty Officer Kyle Diakun, US Navy and Megan Mancinelli PA-C, Boston Mass. Nieces, nephews, and cousins. In the words of Helen … “be careful, I love you.”
