James A. Narvid, 77, of Pittston, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Tony and Angela Corcoran Narvid.
He was graduate of Pittston High School class of 1966 and worked as a salesman for many years for Pepsi Cola, Wilkes-Barre.
Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved wife, daughter Kara and grandson Colin. They brought so much joy into his life. He loved supporting them in all their endeavors and was so proud of all their accomplishments.
Jimmy especially loved spending time with his grandson Colin, they would talk about everything happening in the world and in life. He looked forward to seeing him every day.
He enjoyed walking almost every day and throughout the years has logged thousands of miles in his walks around Pittston.
Jimmy also enjoyed years of volunteer coaching the girls’ basketball teams at St. Mary’s Assumption School, Pittston.
He was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Dominick Chiampi, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Dolly Melvin, sister and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Al Cannarella. Johnny Melvin, Jr., and James McCabe, and nephews, Michael Melvin and Tyler Egan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Melvin Narvid, daughter, Kara Corbett and her husband Michael, and grandson Colin Corbett. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Narvid (Lee), Palm Springs, CA, brother-in-law, Ronald Melvin, Hughestown, sisters-in-law, Patty McCabe, Hanover Twp., Sharon Chase (Stan), Old Forge and Dee Nowakowski (Alan), Duryea, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John the Evangelist Church.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday January 3, 2026 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 9AM until mass in the church.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston.
