Jane L. McHale

Jane L. McHale, of Pittston, completed her journey home to God on December 28, 2020.


Born on April 11, 1934, Jane was the daughter of the late George and Alice Sorber Kline.

She attended Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre and at the age of 19, married Donald F. McHale in 1953. They were married for 53 years when he passed in 2006.


Jane was a stay at home mom until her children attended school. She began work in the local dress factories and later in housekeeping at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She later took classes and became a nurse’s aide at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital until her retirement.


Jane was a dedicated, sweet, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was kind, gentle, and accepting of everyone. She loved everyone and her greatest joy was her family and her deep faith in God. She was a proud member of the Jacqueline’s of the Knights of Columbus and St. John the Evangelist

Church in Pittston.


Jane was preceded in death by a son-in-law Stephen Minzak, brothers George and Charles Kline, and sisters Audrey Ricker, Grace Baird, and Alice Jones.


She is survived by her son Donald and wife Denice, daughter Kathleen Powell and husband James, and daughter Sharon Minzak; grandchildren Matthew Powell and wife Shannon, Katie Lockyer and husband Bruce, Andrew McHale, Amanda and Stephen Minzak; great-grandchildren Sophia Powell and Anderson Lockyer; step grandchildren Francine Reyes and husband Ray and James Powell. Step great-grandchildren Jordyn and Kailyn MacCollum-Reyes and Domenica Powell; a brother, Marvin Kline and his wife Dellamae, numerous nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to thank the Bayada Nurses who took excellent care of Jane while she resided at the Infantino Towers, the entire staff of the Gardens at East Mountain who lovingly cared for her for the last three years, and the entire staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley who demonstrated an abundance of love and compassion during Jane’s final days.


Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 25 William Street, Pittston.
