Janet Mary Marranca

Janet Mary Marranca, 84, of Exeter, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters, Monday, February 7, 2022, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Pittston on January 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helen Kolesky Pega.

Janet was a graduate of Luzerne High School and Wilkes-Barre Business School.


She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be truly missed.


Janet took great enjoyment in caring for her cats and watching classic movies. She was the office manager for her daughter’s chiropractic practice for over 20 years and will be missed by many patients she helped.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Charles Marranca.


Surviving are her daughters, Mary Ellen Marranca and her fiancé, Tony Cook, Exeter; Nadine Nadine Prezkop and her husband Gary, Mountaintop; Lynn Lombardo and her husband Fred, Kingston; and Christine Keren and her husband Liron, Kingston; brother Louis Pega, Luzerne; grandchildren, Jacqueline Joseph; Taylor Joseph; Charles Lombardo; Carmen Lombardo; Angelo Lombardo; Etan Keren; Oren Keren and Sharli Keren; great-grandchildren, Jayce Shannon and Aveda Joseph; brother-in-law, Stephen Sciandra, Pittston, numerous nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, February 11, 2022, from 4pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10am in the Parish of St. Barbara, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church Saturday morning. Interment, St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston.
