Janice A. Luvender

Janice A. Luvender, 73, of Pittston Twp., passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at home. Her husband is Daniel E. Luvender.


Born in Pittston on September 13, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hilda Orlando Deice.


She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and was employed by Bell Telephone Company.

Janice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin and will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life, she enjoyed taking care of them and watching them grow up.


She was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Deice.


Surviving is her husband Daniel, sweet hearts since high school, that would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on November 10, 2025. Also surviving are her gifts from God, her son Daniel and his wife Teresa, Pittston Twp., grandchildren, Ella Mae and Lydia Belle Luvender, sisters-in-law; Patricia Tanski, Sherry Ross, Judy Deice, niece Amy Lynn Deice and fiancé Scott Carey, goddaughter Nina Lynn Carey, cousins whom she loved as brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 5-8pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC 251 William St., Pittston.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 24, 2025, at 9:30 am in St. Joseph Marello Parish. Services will begin at 9am in the funeral home. Private interment, St. Rocco’s Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
