Jean Marie (Jeanne) Pupa, 75, of Pittston, passed away Friday evening, May 7, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Pittston, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Charles J. Iacona and Mary J. Iacona.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1963, and Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1966. Jeanne had worked as a RN for Nesbitt Memorial Hospital and later Wilkes-General Hospital in CCU and PACU for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years and high school sweetheart, Anthony E. Pupa; son AJ Pupa; sister, Debbie Anzalone; and brother-in-law, Patrick Charge.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Marie Pupa; Pittston, , grandson Keenan Lewis and his mother Kerry Gregory, Wyoming; sister, Diane Charge,; brother, Chuck Iacona; brother-in-law, Angelo Anzalone, all of Pittston ; niece Marie ( Greg) Kaspriski, great niece Addi and great nephew Luca; Pittston Twp. Brother in law Art ( Cindy) Pupa Jr, Jenkins Twp., and several other nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
She was a former member of St. Rocco's Church and a current member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.
Jeanne’s heart and soul were full of love, especially for her family. She was a caring, compassionate and nurturing person. This was evident as she was a respected and highly skilled critical care nurse. Anyone who knew Jeanne could see her family was her greatest accomplishment. She loved unconditionally. Her love for family was also present with her cooking and baking. You never left her house hungry.
Jeanne enjoyed the yearly family vacations to Atlantic City, NJ, Ocean City, MD, and the cruises she shared with the family.
After retiring, she enjoyed her cooking shows, HGTV and playing her games on the iPad. QVC was her guilty pleasure. UPS saw her frequently.
Thank you to the Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance, and the ED and ICU teams at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Twp. for the compassionate and excellent care given to Jeanne and her family.

A walkthrough visitation will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 11:30am to 12:30pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston following CDC guidelines of wearing a face covering and maintaining social distance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Marello Parish and interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
