Joan V. Munley, 91, of Pittston passed away Monday, October 11, 2021. Born in Pittston on September 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Madeline McLarney Munley.
Joan was a life-long member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Hughestown and a current member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston.
She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston and Wilkes-Bare Business College. Joan started her business career in payroll department support for Consolidated Cigar, West Pittston; Topps Inc., Duryea; and SLC Graphics, Hughestown from where she retired.
She was a devout Catholic. A loving, caring, nurturing family centered woman who always sought to lend support, comfort, and humor to every facet of the lives of her extended family. She in turn was loved and respected by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Robert Finnerty and great-niece, Dena Finnerty,
Surviving are her sister, Rita Finnerty, Pittston; nieces and nephews, Thomas Finnerty (Mary), Harrisburg; Mary Claire Kabacinski (Stanley), Lancaster; Patrick Finnerty (Beth), New Jersey; Michael Finnerty (Linda), Old Forge; and Maureen Roman (Frank), Pittston; several great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, October 15, 2021, from 10am-11am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
