Joann Casarella Sieminski

JoAnn has moved on to her heavenly home peacefully in her sleep after a courageous battle with cancer on May 20, 2023 surrounded with her family. We thank God that she is now home with Him and her loved ones who moved to paradise before her.

She was born in Pittston on September 28, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Venetz Casarella. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon (Lee) on June 29, 2016. She was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class 1974. She worked for Leslie Fay, American Silk, Benco Dental and Genpact and after her retirement worked part-time for Gerrity Market, Luzerne. She loved being with family, her dog and friends. She also enjoyed gardening. Surviving are her sisters, Mary Catherine(who she lived with along with her niece, Cathy and her children) Forty-Fort , Patricia(Patti) Langan and her husband, James, Meshoppen, her brothers, Francis (Frank)Casarella and his wife, Sandra, West Wyoming, Anthony (Tony) and his wife, Ann Marie, Wyoming, her sister in-law, Loretta (Lori) Ceklosky and her husband, Joseph, Dallas, plus numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful boxer, Leah. JoAnn’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Geisinger Oncology and Allied Hospice team of nurses and aides for their compassion care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 10:00am in Saint Monica Catholic Church, 383 W. 8th Street, West Wyoming. Interment will be held in Saint Cecilia Cemetery, Schooley Avenue, Exeter. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
