Joseph Paul (Butch) McNamara, 82, of the Suscon Section of Pittston Township, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, in Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Scranton on October 21, 1940, he was the son of the late John and Ann Miller McNamara.
He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and Johnson Trade School. He managed Hickory Run Builders for many years.
He enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter, Colleen; daughter, Michele Leoncini; and sister, Ellen Mahoney.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Elli Koutsoukos McNamara; children, Marcy Rose McNamara, Scranton; Mima Brunges (Gregg) Suscon; and Vito Buzzetta (Marytheresa), Pittston Township; son-in-law, Arthur Leoncini, Florida, grandchildren, Austin Leoncini and Eugene Buzzetta; brothers, Dr. Kevin P. McNamara, Hershey and John McNamara (Anna), Susquehanna; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 8:30am-9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
