Heaven Just Got a Little Sweeter

Judith “Judy” Louise (Longshaw) Fino, of West Pittston, affectionately known as “Sugar” to her grandchildren and all those fortunate enough to know her, passed away peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family, October 23, 2026.

Born on August 16, 1940, in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Longshaw and Alice (Orton) Longshaw. Judy was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River.

Sugar was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and generous heart touched the lives of so many. To know her was to feel loved, and to be part of her family was to know that there would always be a place for you at her table.

In her early years, Judy spent time working as a camp counselor, swimming instructor, and lifeguard. She also worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph.

Judy spent many years working alongside her beloved husband, Michael J. Fino, at Fino’s Pharmacy in Pittston. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and community. She also devoted many years to teaching CCD at Immaculate Conception Church in West Pittston.

Above all else, Sugar loved her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent gathered around the table in her home, surrounded by the people she loved and welcoming anyone who came through her door. Her home was a place of comfort, connection, and togetherness, where family and friends could always count on a warm welcome. She also treasured the time she spent in Tennessee with her daughter and her family. No matter where she was, family was always at the heart of everything.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Michael J. Fino; her daughter, Mary Anne Fino; her grandsons, Jonathan Gilpin and Patrick Wolak; her sons-in-law, Andrew Ewonishon and Roger Belles; her sister-in-law, Mary Anne (Fino) Anzalone; her brother-in-law, Dominic Pasquale Fino, and his wife, Ruth Wierbowski Fino; and her stepmother, Grace Longshaw.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Alice Fino-Ewonishon, Mary Sue Fino-Szumski (Conrad), Marsha Fino (Ronald), and Mary Patricia “Trish” Belles.

Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Michael/ Lilith Wolak, Christina Fritz (Eric), Joseph Kolmansperger (Sara), Adam Lobo, Karol Szumski, Alexandra Szumski, and Lauren Lobo; her granddaughter-in-law, Tanya Macareo; her step-grandchildren, Keith Ewonishon and Jonathan Ewonishon (Kara); and her 11 cherished great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.

Judy is also survived by her brother, Raymond Longshaw Jr. (Sharon); her sister, Marsha Gauthier (Richard); her stepsister, Patricia Yarborough; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her with love.

Though Sugar will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the faith she shared, and the countless memories made around her table will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her greatest legacy was not simply the life she lived, but the love she left behind.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever our Sugar.

The family will receive friends and relatives for a visitation, Friday October 30, 2026 from 4-7PM, in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave. West Pittston, PA.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday October 31, 2026 at 10AM in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave. West Pittston, PA.
