Kathryn A. Quinn (Kate)

Kathryn A. Quinn (Kate), 79, of Pittston, formerly of Pittston Township, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021.

Kate was born in Pittston Township on May 21, 1942 to Martin and Margaret Quinn. She was a 1960 graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston. She was employed for over 20 years at United Penn Bank in Wilkes-Barre and was Vice-President of Marketing. In April of 1997, after moving to Lancaster, she became the Director of the Volunteer Center of the United Way of Lancaster County. She presided over 11 Day of Caring events, including the biggest in county history in September 2007 when she placed 3,500 volunteers. She also wrote more than 260 Volunteer Connection Columns for the Sunday News of Lancaster. Kate retired in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Thomas Quinn, and dear friend, Nancy

Berg.

She is survived by her brothers Bill Quinn and his wife Elsie of Louisiana and Marty Quinn and his wife Barbara of Pittston; 5 nieces, Sharon and Wylie Shores; Theresa Quinn; Patti and Hank Richter; Jacki Kennedy; and Kelly and Joe Kernich; 5 nephews, Marty and Bea Quinn; Sean and Jodelle Quinn; Mitch and Kim Quinn; Mike and Tara Quinn; and Brian and Denise Quinn; very close friends, Robyn and Ben Lazarus; Jody and Bob Leidigh; and Ellen and Tom Romanko; several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Special thanks to her devoted caregivers Joan, Colleen, Gina, Mary and Natalie, and to the staff of Highland Manor, as well as to Dr. Julie Platt and the physicians and staff of Geisinger Medical Center.

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 9am-10am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, or to the Pittston Memorial Library, 47 Broad Street, Pittston, PA 18640. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
