Kathryn Boyle Zongila, 79, of Pittston, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Pittston on March 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion McDonald Boyle.
She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School and Misericordia University. She was employed as executive secretary for Luzerne County Emergency Medical Services.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Zongila.
Surviving are daughters, Donna Brominski (Michael), Pittston and Marijo Thompson (Thomas) Mountaintop; grandchildren, Hanna Mucha (Doug), Natalie Sulkowski, Elizabeth Sulkowski, Emily Sulkowski, and Chase and Jasmine Thompson, Kiana Thompson, Thomas Thompson; great-grandson, Tanner; sisters, Barbara LaPorte, Columbia, SC and Ann Cocco (Philip), Pittston; brothers, Michael Boyle, W. Lafayette; Joseph Boyle, Pittston; and John Boyle, Pittston; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 11, 2023, at 9:30am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Friday morning. Interment, parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston.
