Kenneth Salvo, Sr. 73, of Avoca, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Geisinger CMC, Scranton.
He was born July 5, 1950, to Salvatore Salvo and Elsie Ceresi Salvo from Hughestown.
Kenneth was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. He began working at the Pittston Apparel. He then worked for Lu-Lac oil company before starting his own construction business Lake Construction. Following his retirement, he was working for All American Rooter, Nicholson.
He was a member of the Avoca Fire Department, and Avoca Ambulance Association for numerous years. He also worked for Pocono International Raceway as a fireman for over 20 years.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. His family was everything to him. He enjoyed faithfully attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals, and school events. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother, Salvatore J. Salvo.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Angelina (Angie) Suriano Salvo, son, Ken Salvo Jr. (Sheri), Duryea, daughter, Renee Salvo (Andrew Harron), Philadelphia, grandchildren, Jordan Rose (Britni), Ashleigh Rose, Gabrielle Rose, Dominick Salvo, Santino Salvo, Maeve Harron and Mary Elise Harron, soon to be great granddaughter, Sienna Jade Rose, brother Joseph Salvo (Anna Rose), Pittston Township; nephew, Jay Salvo (Jennifer), sister-in-law, Carol Suriano, Pittston; a niece and great nieces.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, July 5, 2024, from 5pm-8pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass will be announced at a later date.

Base were true friends we spent many hours under hood of your 63 Ford and my 63 Chevy. You were a true buddy and we had many good times together with and Angie. This is very sad day for me and I truly morn this tragic loss. I know your in heaven and all the times your family had with you will live on forever.

My condolences to the Salvo family. A true loss of the patriarch of the family. I have lots of good memories of our times together as a family at Pocono Raceway. He was one of a kind, always willing to do more than the next guy, always ready to help. His true love was his family and especially his grandsons, where they were somewhat inseparable. From when they were just tots to now as grown young men, they were the pride and joy of Kenny, as was his children and his loving wife Angie.
