Leona (Eleanor) Sartorio, 89, of Pittston, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, in Regional Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Pittston on February 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Wall) Rizzo.
Eleanor was a graduate of Pittston High School. She will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Sartorio; infant son Peter; son-in-law Douglas Trusavage; brothers Peter and James Rizzo and sisters Genevieve Petroski and Rose Davis.
Surviving are her son, Samuel Abate Jr. and his wife Barbara, Jessup; daughters, Catherine Trusavage, Pittston and Josephine Semenza and her husband George, Factoryville; brother, Joseph Rizzo and his wife Janet, Pittston and Pauline Cobb Bethlehem; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Marello Parish and interment in St. Rocco’s Cemetery.Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
