Louis “Luigi” Esposito, 93, of Yatesville, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born October 23, 1932 in Castelcivita, Italy, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Antonia Gigliello Esposito.
Louie worked at the family businesses, Yatesville Bus Company and Parrish Transportation. He was an avid gardener who was often found in the kitchen cooking homestyle Italian meals featuring his homegrown vegetables. Louie loved to make homemade wine which he happily shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Angelina Tedesco and Adele Grieco.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dora LoBrutto Esposito, and their sons, Patrick Esposito and his wife Geralyn, Archbald, Charles “Babes” Esposito and his wife Amy, Pittston Twp., and Louis Esposito and his wife Cindy, Exeter. He is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer (Matt), Lewis, Nicholas (Margaret), Louis (fiancée Brittney), Lauren, Evan, and great-granddaughter Holly as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the family, Wednesday August 5, 2026 at 9:30AM in Communion of Saints Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 237 William St., Pittston.
He will be laid to rest at St. Rocco’s Cemetery.
