Margaret Mary Redington, 78, of West Pittston, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born on April 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace McGovern Wagner.
Affectionately known as Peggy, she was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Pittston and received her degree from Wilkes-Barre Business School.
Peggy worked at the Boston Store for several years before she left to raise her family. She also worked for
a time at the Salvation Army in Exeter. Peggy was the best coffee maker, and always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond Redington and toddler son Raymond, Jr.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Maureen Redington and husband David Band, of Harveys Lake, brothers; Thomas Wagner, of Nanticoke and John Wagner (Celine) of Exeter, sister, Kathryn Gavlick (Bernard) of Langhorne and nephew Bernard Gavlick of Langhorne. She is also survived by her grandson and the light of her life, Harris Patrick Band.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 9AM-10AM in the church.
Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church 35 William Street, Pittston, PA 18640.Â
The family would like to thank all of the medical professionals who showed Peggy kindness and compassion during her illness.Â
