Marilou Graziano Bray

Marilou Graziano Bray, formerly of Plains, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24, at her home in Las Vegas. She was the beloved wife of Michael Bray.


Born in Pittston on November 22, 1946, Marilou was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Petrello Graziano. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Sam Capone.


Marilou was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston and College Misericordia. She began her professional career as a schoolteacher in the Hazleton School District, where she was dedicated to nurturing and educating young minds, she continued her service to others with the Luzerne County Children and Youth in Wilkes-Barre, advocating for the well-being of children and families. Marilou also made an impact on her community through public service as a field supervisor with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Northeast Regional Office in the Department of Human Services, where she was responsible for licensing and inspecting daycare centers, ensuring safe and supportive environments for children. She and Mike retired to Las Vegas in 2020 and enjoyed theatre and traveling.


Marilou will be remembered for her compassion, her commitment to helping others, and the care she extended to everyone she met.


In addition to her husband, she is survived by her niece, Kara Harrer, her husband Steve, and their children, Matthew (Carsyn) and Alexandra and several cousins.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be private.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation.


Marilou will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
