Mary Lou Musto, 95, of West Pittston, died peacefully Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Wesley Village, Pittston.

Born in Exeter, she was the daughter of the late John and Mae Clark O’Keefe.

Mary Lou graduated from St. Cecelia High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She worked several years as a secretary for Diamond Manufacturing Co.Â

Mary Lou was married 67 years to her lifelong love, Jimmy Musto, until his death in 2018. Also proceeded in death by daughter, Mariellen; brothers, James, William, Kevin and Gervase O’Keefe; grandson, Patrick and nephew Jimmy.

Surviving are her son, Ronald Musto (Mary Kay), Pittston and daughter, M.C. Palladino (Ed), Sewell, NJ; grandchildren, John (Samantha), Billy (Tomoe), Lynne, and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Liam and Liah; devoted cousins Jeanmarie Cronauer, Donna Kolojeski, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was known for her caring, witty and resilient nature. She embraced her faith, especially devoted to Blessed Mother and daily rosary. Mary Lou, at home in her kitchen, equally mastered Irish and Italian recipes and generously shared her wide assortment of Christmas cookies. She created extraordinary handicrafts with compassion and skill including crocheted prayer shawls for patients in hospice. Drawing on Jimmy’s upholstery skills, together they designed a hand-applique wall hanging that was featured at a state quilt show. Â

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 9am-10am in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Cecelia’s Cemetery, Exeter.Â
