Mary Petro, 63, of Hughestown, passed away at home, Saturday, July 3, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Kingston on November 26, 1957, she was the daughter of Dominick Policare and Mary LaMarca Policare of Pittston.
She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston. Mary held various employment positions throughout her career, but she especially loved her work as a Legal Assistant at Sciandra Law Offices, Pittston.
Mary was a loving wife and mother, an adoring grandmother, and a wonderful daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.
In her spare time, Mary loved to read, travel, and spend time with her family. In addition,
she proudly attended all of her grandsons’ school and sporting events.
She was preceded in death by infant son, Robert Petro and brother, Michael Policare.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Robert Petro; daughters, Mara Davis and her husband Jeremy, Jenkins Township, and Kimberly Tucker and her husband Brian, Avoca; grandchildren, Reid and Archie Davis; siblings, Adele Gouse, Cape May Court House, NJ; Raymond Policare, Los Angeles, CA; Dominick Policare, Wyoming; Joseph Policare, Pittston; and Joanne Quaglia and her husband Vito, Duryea; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 4pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 9, 2021, at 9:30am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Friday morning. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
