Mildred “Millie” Tonte, 70, lifelong resident of Yatesville, passed away on Thursday September 16, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Frank Lombardo and Ruth Salvage Lombardo on December 20, 1950.
She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. She along with her sister, Ruth were the owner/operators of Lombardo’s Italian Villa, Yatesville. Her love for her business and her customers was beyond words. She considered each person who walked through the door family. She held in her heart and spoke often of the time she spent working beside one of the people she cherished the most, her sister, Ruthy.
Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were Millie’s passion and joy. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially for the holidays. She treasured the times she spent vacationing at LBI with family and friends. She was a dedicated sports fan with a love for the Miami Dolphins, New York Yankees, and Penn State Nittany Lions. Mildred will always be remembered for her loving smile and infectious laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, John Thomas Hurtt and brother-in-law, Salvatore Dietrick.
Surviving are husband, Ronald Tonte; daughter Melissa and her husband Atty. John Hurtt, Yatesville; son, Philip Oliver, Yatesville; grandson, Thomas Hurtt; sister, Ruthy Dietrick and her partner, Marcia Porzucek, Yatesville; aunt, Marlene Yaple, Wilkes Barre; brothers, Frank Lombardo and wife, Candy, Yatesville; Joseph Lombardo and wife, Debra, Yatesville; William Lombardo and wife, Rita, Pittston Township; numerous nieces and nephews.
We promised to be brave like you. But we are broken. We know you are no longer suffering from the pain in your body or the frustration of what your life had become. We are crying for ourselves, how life will never be the same without you. Rest peacefully, we will meet again.
According to Millie’s wishes, there will be no services. Interment, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
Ruthie and Family, we are so sorry for your loss. Millie was a warm, kind, funny person who always made us feel like family and remembered everyone. We have missed her, you, and restaurant the past year and are deeply saddened to read of Millie's loss.

Millie, my heart is so broken to hear this. You were always a light in my life. you will always be in my heart and in my prayer. you will be missed by all who knew you. There are no words to express the depth of our sorrow. Millie was such a wonderful person. Being in her presence and seeing her smile was like feeling warm sunshine. She was compassionate and generous. She will certainly be missed by all who knew her. Her obituary was beautiful. Yatesville will never be the same.
