Newark J. Legg, 85, of Dallas, passed away Friday morning, April 2, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Dupont on January 29, 1936, Newark was the son of the late Newark and Frances Lucasavage Legg. He attended Dupont schools and served in the US Navy. He lived in Hughestown for forty years and retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Panagakos and a brother, Robert Legg.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith Kutchkus Legg; son, Dr. Joseph Legg and his wife Kristen, Clarks Summit; grandchildren Ashley Kristen Legg; Dr. Joseph Newark Legg II; Alexis Rose Legg; Kallysta Maryia Panagakos and Shane William Panagakos; sisters, Dolores Clemens, Scranton and Joyce Powell, Hughestown; numerous nieces and nephews.
A walk-through visitation will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021, from 5pm-7pm at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 9:30am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Interment, St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Pittston. CDC guidelines of wearing a face covering and maintaining social distance will be observed at the funeral home as well at the church and cemetery.
