Patrick James O’Boyle, 69, of Pittston Twp., Pa. passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Sep. 10, 1954, in Pittston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Grace Hoban O’Boyle.
Patrick was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1972, and Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
Patrick worked in industrial and facilities maintenance for the Muskin Pool Company and later Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Hughestown.
Patrick loved spending time with his family and being Pop to his grandchildren. He was an avid football fan of both Penn State and Notre Dame. He enjoyed trap shooting with Pat Shea and his nephew Michael O’Boyle. He was self-taught in many areas and had an incredible knack for being able to fix things. He was a great listener and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother Joseph and his infant sister Kathleen.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Antoinette Grieco O’Boyle; children, Patrick Joseph O’Boyle, Pittston Twp., and Kevin Michael O’Boyle and his wife, Kathryn Conlon O'Boyle, Jenkins Twp.; grandchildren, Flynn, Ainsley and Nolan O'Boyle; brothers, Joseph Barry O’Boyle and his wife, Marilyn, Dallas, Pa.; and Michael O’Boyle and his wife, Beth, Jenkins Twp, Pa; sister-in-law, Rose Sanguedolce and her husband, Sam, Pittston; nephews, Michael and Brian O’Boyle and Sam, Len, and A.J. Sanguedolce.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30am in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St, Pittston, with the Rev. Paul McDonnell officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Henry Cancer Center at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.
