Peter D. Lucchino, 78, of Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Pittston, peacefully passed away at home July 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late David and Doris (Chairge) Lucchino of West Pittston.
Pete was a graduate of West Pittston High School. He attended one year at Penn State University until the sudden death of his father prompted his return home to help support his family.
Pete owned several dress factories in the Great Pittston Area and Southern PA. His work eventually took him to Southern PA where he has resided for the past 40 years. He and his wife, Fran, owned and operated Greencastle Antique mall until selling the business upon retiring. Pete was a very generous man, who donated to countless non-profit organizations over the years.
Pete enjoyed spending winters in Florida golfing with his wife and friends. He was an avid hunter and Penn State fan. However, his favorite role was that of father and grandfather. Pete was very devoted to his family and would spend numerous hours traveling to spend time with those most important to him. He was a “rock” for his family, always the protector and guardian. He loved and expected rum cake for his and everyone’s birthday, enjoyed homemade red wine and gave the best hugs.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, and his faithful companion, Luke.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 34 years, Frances; son, Dave (Jane), Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; daughter, Corinne, Old Forge; step-daughter, Dina Lininger (Tom), Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren, Madison and Peter Lucchino, Kevin and Amanda Yanul, and Sarah and Abby Lininger; sister, Johanna Lucchino, Wilkes-Barre.
Friends may call Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 2pm-4pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Interment, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at: ALSASC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN38105.
Deepest condolences to the family
Corinne and Dave,
I am so sorry for your loss. May the memories you have bring smiles instead of tears. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
