Peter Joseph Laure, 93, formerly of Jenkins Township, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Shantytown on December 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Krushnowski Laure.
He attended Jenkins Township schools and proudly served in the US Army. Prior to retirement, he had worked at Medico Industries and the coal mining industry.
Peter was an avid football fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions. He enjoyed listening to and singing to country music and spending time with his family sharing a meal and good conversation. He was an excellent cook.
Peter was a loving, caring, and generous man who made friends wherever he went. He will be truly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; twin brother, Paul Laure; sister, Marie Koscielski; and brother, Joseph Laure.
Surviving are his sister, Terri Shipula, West Pittston; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Phyllis Harrison, Moosic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10am in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jenkins Township Veterans Memorial or to the Disabled American Veterans, Department of PA. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
