Philip C. Adonizio, 77, of Nanticoke, formerly of Avoca, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 20, 2022 while a patient at Geisinger Medical Center.
Philip was the son of Philip M. and Eleanor Adonizio of Pittston, who proceeded him in death. He also was proceeded in death by his wife, Carol E. Adonizio of Avoca and sister Darlene Adonizio of Hilton Head, SC.
Philip is survived by four children, Philip (PJ), Michael, and Samantha Distasio (Jack) all of Avoca, and Joseph (Samantha) of Pittston. He is also survived by three grandchildren, twins Jacob and Andrew, and Olivia, all of Avoca. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Robert (Sally) of Little River, SC, and sister Mary Lou Ames (Dennis) of Brookville, PA.
Philip graduated from Pittston High School in 1963. He graduated from Kings College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and attended Temple University for his Master’s Degree in Education. Philip was a Special Education teacher for 30 years with the Luzerne Intermediate Unit.
He worked and taught children in the Pittston Area School District and the Wilkes-Barre Area Vocational Center.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston and will commence at the convenience of the family.
