Philomena (Florence) Gentile, 90, of Harding, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, in Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in Pittston on May 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Claire Masters Ambrose.
Florence attended Pittston schools and had worked in the local cigar factories for many years. She later worked in the cafeteria of Coca Cola and at IGA, Plains in the deli department. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Gentile, Sr.; sons, George, Michael, and James Gentile; brothers, Carl, Mike, John, Matt, and Nick Ambrose; infant sister, Hope; sisters, Mary, Lillian, and Jean.
Surviving is daughter-in-law Annette Gentile, Harding; grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Spickard and her husband James, Archbald and Michael Gentile, Jr., Harding; nieces and nephews.
Interment, Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 10:00am in Memorial Shrine Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
So sorry to hear this! Also sorry that I see she was predeceased By her sons. I knew about MIchael and Jimmy. I didn't know about George Jr. He was a friend of,mine. RIP !
Annette & Michael so sorry for your loss. Aunt Flo was and kind woman and wonderful baker. She will be missed. We are reminded that time is precious and should not be wasted. Enjoy life and remember to make the days count. Love, cousin Ceil Vincelli
