Randy William Ledsome, 54, of Plains Twp., passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Fairmont West Virginia, he was the son of the late Mildred Louise Starn Ledsome.
Randy graduated from Fairmont State University and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed as the Director of Information Security, with the Department of Veteran Affairs. He was honored to serve our veterans and took much pride in his work.
Randy was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Plains.
Randy was a self taught handyman who enjoyed home improvement projects. He enjoyed traveling to West Virginia to spend time with family and friends. To know Randy was to love him, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Virgil Ledsome.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Ledsome, Plains Twp; children; Bradley Ledsome (fiancé Kaylee Fogle), MD, Amanda Dixon (Tyler), WV, and Brandon Ledsome, WV; stepchildren Suzann Noone (Joseph), Jenkins Twp. and James Verdekal (Aubrey), Mountain Top; grandchildren Aiden and Gabriella Ledsome, Joshua (Mia) John, Avery Noone, Keilan and Aidan Verdekal, and Abbey, Jacob, and Joshua Noone; brother, Thomas Ledsome (Jane), Perth Australia; mother-in-law, Carmella Kuren, Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Suzann Uhle (Dave); brother-in-law, John Pugh (Debbie); his faithful schnauzer, Toby; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thank you to the Oncology staff at the VAMC, Geisinger ICU Hospice Staff, and his visiting nurse Mary (Bayada Home Health), who provided him with compassion and excellent care.
The family would also like to thank all the members of Randy’s Convoy who had provided him support through his 2 1/2 year battle.
The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 5-8PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC 251 William Street, Pittston. Face masks are required for the visitation. A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10AM in SS. Peters and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Rd., Wilkes-Barre. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
