Robert Joseph Stepanski

Robert Joseph Stepanski, 72, of Hughestown, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.


Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 11, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Susanna Petrin Stepanski.

He was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1967 and received an Associate's Degree in Engineering from Luzerne County Community College. He served in the 365th Army Reserve during the Vietnam Era. He retired as a surveyor from the Department of Environmental Resources. He was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Stepanski and a brother-in-law, Bernie Juskiewicz.


Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Rita Wiliszewski Stepanski; sisters, Susan Murphy (Michael), Bear Creek, Jean Catina (Frank), Forty-Fort, Ann Marie Popovitch (Robert), Wilkes-Barre, Carol Lupton (Rick), Wilmington, NC, Donna Drutarovsky (Andy), Dickson City, and Joann Juskiewicz, Plains, sister-in-law, Betty Stepanski, Bear Creek, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, James and Dorothy Powers, Forty Fort and George and Catherine Wiliszewski, Old Bridge, NJ; a close circle of friends, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and god-children.


The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 9am-10am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am.Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. The family requests that those attending the visitation and mass wear a face mask. Memorial donations may be made to Luzerne County SPCA, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA18702 or to Pittston Meals on Wheels, 59 S. Main Street, Pittston, PA 18640.


Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.

Uncle Bobby was a kind, caring person. I am thankful for all of the great memories that we have and will always carry in our hearts of him.
