Robert Lasky

Mr. Robert Lasky, 88, of West Wyoming, passed away January 8, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Uncle Bob, as he was known to many, recently resided in Mountaintop, PA where he was lovingly cared for by his great nephew James “Binky” Parry, wife Kristen and three great, great nephews, Kaelen, Karsen, and Jameson.

Robert, a son of the late Andrew and Catherine Grabosky Lasky, was born in Duryea on August 10, 1933. He was educated in Pittston public schools. After graduation, Robert served in the United States Army for 2 years at Fort Hood, Texas. He then was employed by Ashley Machine Tool and Die.


A devout Catholic, Robert was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Annunciation Parish in Kingston where his brother, the late Msgr. Joseph Lasky served as pastor. After its closure, he would frequent services throughout Luzerne and Lackawanna counties, especially at the Oblates of St. Joseph in Laflin.


Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Trax Lasky. Also preceding him in death were 4 brothers and 7 sisters. He is survived by his sister Lucille Arnone; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.


The family would like to thank Dr. James Tricarico as well as Theresa, Dawn, Carla and Joan of Allied Services Hospice for the care they provided.


The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 9am-11am in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am.Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Duryea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Avenue, Scranton or to Corpus Christi Parish Social Concerns Committee, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
