Robert M. Steinberger, 80, of West Pittston, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 18, 2022. Born in Scranton on May 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen Olenchak Steinberger.
Bob was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and served in the US Navy.
He spent 35 years working as a lineman for Bell Telephone Company and with Verizon as a service technician.
Bob was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church in Hilldale. Also, he served as board member for the West Pittston Ambulance Association for many years. He was the “Mr. Fix-It” for the neighborhood and he thoroughly enjoyed helping people by making needed repairs in his usual meticulous way. He looked forward to his work days with the boys at the church.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always there for his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Louise Fisk; and brothers- in-law, David Alberigi and Jim Fisk.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Marie Alberigi Steinberger; daughter, Rebecca Steinberger; son, Robert L. Steinberger and his wife Darlene; grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Andrew, and Luca Steinberger; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Alberigi; and very close friend, Theresa Lauricella, all of West Pittston. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special neighbors.
The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 6pm-8pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11am in Christian Apostolic Church of Hilldale, 757 N. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with Pastor David Fischi officiating. Those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow in West Pittston cemetery.
