Ron Good

Ron Good, 77, of West Pittston, PA passed away gracefully Sunday evening, June 2, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.


Born in New Brunswick NJ on July 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Walter and Ruth McGavisk Good.

 

Ron, a graduate of Santiago High School, was the owner operator of Smoketown Floor Covering.  He was an avid golfer and member of Fox Hill Country Club with his wife, where they enjoyed golfing and socializing with their friends. 

 

Ron entertained his family and friends for years with his quick wit and humor.  His dedication and commitment to those he loved was unparalleled.  He took special pride in his grandchildren and their many achievements.  Generous, compassionate and loving, he made all feel welcome and included when he met them.

 

Ron enjoyed every moment and set an example for living life to the fullest.  He leaves a wonderful legacy in his large family, and an imprint in the hearts of everyone he knew.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Sandra Pientka and J. Steven Good and half-siblings, Robert Good and Barbara Johnson.

 

Surviving are his wife Karen Peppe Good; daughters, Dina Hornberger (Andy), Ephrata, PA and Angie Schnader (Chris), Reinhold, PA; step-daughters, Angela Morgan, Kingston; Jackie Scavone (Jared), Shavertown and Lucia McGeehan (Tom), Collegeville; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Linda Markle (Bruce), Hanover; brother, Richard D. Good (Jennifer), Auburn, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 5pm-7pm in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10am in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston.  Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.  Private interment. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
