Rosalie Barrett

Rosalie Barrett, 84 of Hughestown, passed away peacefully, Wednesday July 8, 2026 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre she was the daughter of the late George Sabol and Sadie Macierowski Sabol. Rosalie was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School. She spent her career as a Bank Teller, starting at Miners Savings Bank of Pittston and retiring from PNC Bank.

Born with a quick wit, a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue, Rosalie's personality and perseverance made her a favorite to anyone she met. She lived for her family and especially her grandkids. She never missed a school event, sporting event, or award that her kids or grandkids were involved in. She loved a good debate, which made her a Facebook must read. She volunteered her time and effort and sacrificed for her family and friends. Quite simply, she was the quintessential mother, grandmother, and friend that everyone needs in their life. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James F. Barrett in 2007 and her sister Lorraine Kastreva.

Rosalie is survived by her children; daughter, Alisa Menendez and her husband Chris, Jenkins Twp., and son, James Barrett, Esq. and his wife Shannon, Mountain Top, and grandchildren; Aslyn, Drew, and Juliana Menendez and James and Lilah Barrett, as well as her sister, Gloria McGlynn and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives Monday July 13, 2026 from 5-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC 251 William St., Pittston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday July 14, 2026 at 10 AM in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church 605 Luzerne Ave, West Pittston. Those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning.

Interment will follow in West Pittston Cemetery.
