Sebastian (Sebby) J. Amico, 61, formerly of Pittston and of Walnutport, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital, Bethlehem.
Sebby was born in Pittston on August 21, 1959. He was the son of Madeline Deice Amico and the late Samuel Amico. He was a graduate of Pittston Area HS, Class of 1977 and Johnson Technical School, Class of 1980. He had worked as a realtor for Re/Max Unlimited since 2013.
He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6440, St. Jude’s Mountaintop, PA. He was a devoted volunteer for the Toys for Tots.
He loved attending his granddaughters sporting events and was their number 1 fan. They were his pride and joy. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing especially with his family and friends at Lake Ontario. He also enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Madeline, are his children, Steven Amico (Avery) and their daughter, Madeline of Blandon, and Amy Amico Klein (Christopher) and their daughters, Angelina and Kiersten of New Tripoli; brothers, John Amico (Loretta) of Hughestown and Paul Amico of Pittston; nephew, John Amico (Michelle) and their daughter, Ayla and niece Gina Amico Gebhardt (Rick) and their sons, Richie and Zach; godmother and Aunt, Mary Frances Gristina and numerous cousins.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston and interment in West Pittston Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
Sebby helped us buy our starter home and then our forever home, and he was so incredibly kind and helpful to us. He was so sweet to our daughters and talked often of his granddaughters and family. Our deepest condolences to his family. Sebby will be truly missed.
Sebby was such a positive and uplifting person. He touched so many lives with his charismatic nature. He will truly be missed. Our deeps condolences to the Amico family. May his memory bring comfort to his family and closest friends during this time.
