Sharon Ann Morgan, 72 of Hughestown, passed away Sunday January 19, 2025, in Geisinger CMC, Scranton after a challenging illness.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Morgan and Jean Burns Morgan.
Sharon graduated from James M. Coughlin High School in Wilkes Barre in 1970. After high school, she worked as a legal secretary for Cantor and Horowitz. Ten years later, she relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina and worked for Celanese. She later moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina, again working for the Celanese Corporation. Sharon attended night school for eight years and earned her BA in communications from Queens University of Charlotte, a testament to her intelligence and persistence. After finishing her degree, Sharon returned to Pennsylvania to be near her family, found employment at Prudential Insurance, and retired after twenty-one years with the company in October of 2023.
Sharon loved all that sparkled and radiated light: such as the ocean, Irish crystal, fairie lights for Christmas, the ocean at Cape May, or the night sky. She would keep track of the moon’s phases and purposely remind others when the moon was at its fullest, and the glow was not to be missed. Her home reflected her love of art and color, most notably in a blue and white china collage on her dining room wall. An excellent cook, Sharon welcomed family and friends to parties and dinners that she prepared; the notorious wine tasting celebrations were a crowd pleaser. She was a loving, talented and irreplaceable sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Survivors are: her sister, Patricia Morgan, Hughestown, sister-in-law, Cynthia Bolinger, Wilkes-Barre, Nieces; Michaelene Engleman (Kevin), Mountain Top, Kaitlin Semanas (Eric), Wyoming, Courtney Bolinger, Wilkes-Barre, Ashley Popovich,(Justin) Towanda, Toni Berecin (Bret), niece Alexa Berecin,Wilkes-Barre and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.

I had the pleasure of knowing Sharon while we both worked at Prudential. She could be so funny at times! Sharon, I remember you liked gems, and you were a gem for sure … RIP my friend. My condolences to Sharon’s sister and family.
To any of Sharon's family and friends who may be reading: It is only with fondness and positive memories that I now think of time I spent with Sharon so many years ago. I am saddened to hear of her passing but happy to still think of those days we shared on this journey in our youthful days. She was truly a piece of love and goodness. Gray squirrels.
