Sophie J. Skibbs, 85, of Dupont, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Dupont on September 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank Domoracki, Sr. and Julia Plisko Domoracki.
Sophie was a graduate of Dupont High School, class of 1955. She had worked at the Hollywood Shop in Wilkes-Barre for many years until its closure. She later worked at Party-Time, Hughestown. Sophie was a life member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont and participated in many parish activities. She was a wonderful cook and baker; a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Sophie will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by sisters, Barbara Harlos and Loretta Lesko and brother, Frank Domoracki.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Thomas J. Skibbs; daughter, Christine Thomas (Joseph), Swoyersville; son, Thomas Skibbs (Monika), Green Oaks, IL; sister, Margaret Vergura (James), Pittston; sister-in-law, Marie Domoracki, Pittston;
uncle, Paul Plisko, Dupont; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allied Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
