Thomas J. Golden, 90, of Pittston, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at home with his loving sister by his side.


Born May 21, 1935 and raised in the Browntown section of Pittston Township, he was the son of the late Thomas B. Golden and Mildred C. (Butler) Golden.


Tom was a graduate of Pittston Central Catholic, class of 1953 and Rockland State Hospital, School of Nursing, New York.


He honorably served our country in the United States Army, and retired as LTC after 20 years and 20 days of service. Tom’s military career included two tours of duty during the Vietnam War and time stationed in California, Kentucky, Germany, and Japan.


In retirement, Tom and his wife settled in Ohio, where he worked in the maintenance division at Miami University of Ohio.


After the passing of his beloved wife in 2008, Tom returned to Pittston.


Tom will be lovingly remembered as a “man of his word.”


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dixie Rose (Walker) Golden, brother-in-law, Aloysius McHale, and sister, Marilyn Golden.


He is survived by his sister, Kathryn McHale, of Pittston and numerous cousins.


Tom’s family would like to give a special “Thank You” for the care provided to Tom to Compassionate Hospice, and his aids, Henri, Alexis, Carmelita, JoEllen and Sarah, as well as his cousins who were very good to him, Romayne, Judy, and many more.


The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 4-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.


A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 2, 2026, at 10AM in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main St., Pittston.


Interment will take place in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
